Some other medical prosthetic devices may interfere with scanning. Pleas contact us if you have a question about your MRI eligibility. HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY EXAM? Unless instructed otherwise by our staff, you need not make any changes in your daily routine. Follow your regular diet and medications, as well as your work and play activities. Plan on spending approximately an hour with us. If you are experiencing severe pain or have a history of claustrophobia, please notify our office prior to arriving for your appointment. When you arrive, you will be asked to remove all jewelry, as well as your watch and wallet. You will then meet with our trained technologist, who will explain your exam to you and answer any questions you might have. You may be asked to change into a gown, expecially if you are wearing clothers with metal snaps or zippers. In some instances, you may recieve an injection to improve the diagnostic accuracy of the exam. The technologist will assist you onto the scanning table and make sure you are comfrontable. The table slides forward and the exam will begin. As the exam is performed, you'll hear the normal hummin and thumping sounds of the radio frequency pulses as they start and stop. However, you will not feel anthing at all - the exam is painless! During the scan, we will often check with you to see how you're doing and you can communicate with us at all times. The technologist will bee able to see you throughout the exam. So, relax. |
